Charo Diaz

    Charo Diaz creates handmade leather purses, sachels, bags, wallets, belts, and other artwork in beads, pearls and fabric.  She enjoys fulfilling orders for local residents, friends, and family. All the leather is tanned via vegetable processes without the use of toxic chemicals common to leather tanning. Charo lives in Cochabamba, and takes great pride that all of her crafts are 100% hand made and blend with contemporary styles. She welcomes custom orders and hopes that her clients appreciate that each item is unique and carefully hand crafted in her home on the Eastern edge of Cochabamba, Bolivia.
    Charo comes from humble upbringings and spent much of her early life struggling to provide for her three children on a day to day basis. Along with Spanish she speaks Quechua, the largest indigenous language in Bolivia, and her extensive family network has strong rural roots. She enjoys making artwork of all kinds, hosting foreign travelers, knitting and cooking.
